Posted : 1 month, 3 weeks ago at May 14 21:55 - I was thinking, could easily break down my stories into parts if I wrote them, but chapters is kind of tough for mineI wouldn't want 80 Chapters of 5-20 pages each or something like that, I'd want to keep it down to 30 chapters or so Alright, let me improve the question what do you think should be whjen you choose chapters and when you choose parts So far I am thinking if I can fit them into 30 chapters, I'll do chapters, if not, I'll do parts, but I wanna see whether or not 30 is a good place for deciding on it |

Posted : 1 month, 3 weeks ago at May 14 21:57 - I think it could be even less than 30 |

Posted : 1 month, 3 weeks ago at May 14 22:02 - Well, I meant if I can make it anywhere between 1-30 chapters that would work, but do you think I should make it 1-25 or 1-20 chapters or something? The only cool thing about chapters is you can put parts in too if you want, but only if a part starts where a chapter ends so for a few of the romances which each have a similar plot, they are split into 4 parts, so far I am calling those parts Dog Days/Summer, Leaf Bare/Fall, Cold Season/Winter and Rain Season/Spring(Not sure which set of parts I mgith use, or I might make it8 parts if I decide to continue the story... or if it lasts longer... or something... Lol) |

Posted : 1 month, 2 weeks ago at May 17 9:48 - Chapters make a book easier to understand, so I think chapters are always a good idea for a long story. |

Posted : 1 month, 2 weeks ago at May 17 9:49 - That's why I write in chapters it also allows you to comeback to the book and know roughly where you were and not have to read the entire thing again. |

Posted : 1 month, 2 weeks ago at May 17 11:53 - Alright; only, I don't get confused when writing without chapters, I used to write long stories(for my age) when I was 9 and 10(they were 10 page or less stories) and then, if it seemed like a new even occurred(such as in one story, it was about a race of alien small dragons, there was when they attacked the school, when a few sided with the kids, and when the kids defeated the evil alien dragons, and the teachers(WOOT) it was a fun story, my teacher gave it an A+(only A+ in the class too) anyways, I'd put in chapters, like Chapter 1 Invasion, Chapter 2 was called Betrayal or something, and chapter 3 was RebellionJust something about my style I write and then add things based on if they work or not But, I'd also like to mention, not all books have chapters, some need parts instead, or none at all, though I honestly don't like none at all, so I try to get tht\e ones into Parts(though most of the time it never works) My question is, if it is a confusing read without chapters, but I can't make chapters to fit the set events without them being half a page long, should I just leave it as it is, or mess with it and make it a zillion billion half page chapters? And nobody answered my question; Where should I stop for chapters say I have a 100 page book, the most chapters I'd want it... 20? Because, if there are too many chapters, it makes you look amateur because you can't keep attention on one thing for a long time but if you have too little it is slightly confusing |
