Disappointing compared to the book

Posted : 15 years, 3 months ago on 4 January 2009 03:23 (A review of Twilight)

I am kinda interested to hear that there should be a new director for the others, but honestly after reading the book, the movie disappointed me as far as content, although in the visionary area it exceeded my expectations... They left out a few of the parts that kinda made the book interesting, all of the psychological sorts of dreams(2 actually) that Bella had in the book, and which would have been interesting to watch on screen, both were gone, still, I wasn't too disappointed because movies always leave things out, Anyways, the movie wasn't bad but it wasn't good either, looking forward to the next though oddly

Woah...

Posted : 15 years, 6 months ago on 20 October 2008 12:00 (A review of Tokko)

Holy crap, this anime is like, great, although more for the mature audience, it has a plot that twists and turns in every direction, however the anime ended too quickly and it left too many things unknown, what happened, there wasn't enough time to get into it, so instead of the 10/10 it would have deserved, it gets a point knocked off for a dissappointing ending...

I recommend this to the blood lovers and the sword fighting and action lovers as well.
9/10

Extraordinary Anime

Posted : 15 years, 6 months ago on 19 October 2008 11:58 (A review of Vampire Knight)

This is truly a good anime, I am glad it hasn't been corrupted and obssessed over yet... Although definitely more for the girl audience, it is definitely a good anime, with an unusually strange plot, suspense, perfect timing for ending of episodes, and various twists... This show is one of the few that you can say isn't mind destroying...

I can gladly say I watched this and still be proud of it, as this series is coming along quite nicely

An interesting experience that everyone should see

Posted : 15 years, 6 months ago on 19 October 2008 11:52 (A review of V for Vendetta)

First off, I recommend this to ANYONE, this movie should be watched by nearly anyone whether they like it or not.
I for one enjoyed this movie, as V had an excellent diction that made him seen intellectual and powerful, I enjoyed most of the fight scenes, and the explosions were interesting to watch, the general message to the public that this movie gives is interesting, the people shouldn't fear the government, the government should fear the people, it's true, but it's not usually touched on, at least, not in this way.
Although interesting, the plot is not as good as it could have been, thus it did not get a perfect score, various other things I just didn't like also lowered the score, but it is still a good movie in my opinion and most people should try and see it once in their life time...

Not the greatest, but worth watching once or twice

Posted : 15 years, 6 months ago on 19 October 2008 11:43 (A review of The Mummy Returns)

Hey, sequels rarely overpower the first movie, and of course, this one failed to overpower the first movie. But, it wasn't as bad as some other sequels, seeing as I didn't regret watching it, other then better camera working, slightly more interesting creatures, and a bit of comedy, it doesn't really do a good job of succeeding...
Albeit, it did have me interested at certain parts, but some of the parts just left you right out there, snoring. If you can ignore the boring parts and wait for interesting things to happen, then this movie will probably be higher rated for you, I recommend this to any mummy fans though, as mummies are always interesting to mummy fans(Strange, you'd think mummy fans were more of the dog type...)
Anyways, 6/10, if they kept it interesting the whole movie it would have been 8/10 though

Extraordinarily above my expectations

Posted : 15 years, 8 months ago on 20 August 2008 02:58 (A review of Twilight)

I'll be honest, I had assumed that this series was pointed more towards a female audience and thus avoided it for quite a while, I also never liked the current 'fad' of the public, so that caused me to avoid this series, don't get me wrong, I love vampire series and I loved this book, I mean, I've read Vampire Plagues and a bit of Cirque du Freak(Both excellent, less mainstream books) but finally my curiosity got the best of me and I borrowed this book. I started reading it after a few days of just staring at it, afraid of being disappointed or proven right. I open it up and Im at page 220 in one sitting... I finish it the next day... The description, even in the beginning is amazingly elaborate yet so basic and understandable, the story is confusing in certain parts, but even the beginning of it hooked me in... I read and read and read, taking in every detail, running it through my mind and trying to fit pieces together, the romance between Edward and the main character is greatly created to be elaborate like a maze and all of the other characters aren't too dull, but they aren't too great either. I liked the description of the vampires and the fact that everything described makes sense and fits together... Now, the one small violent area of this book was great and interesting, but as I had thought, since it is mostly directed towards girls, the violence was quick, but still much better then I expected.

I have to say I am going to stick with reading this series... I just gotta get the other three books from someone lol :D

Avatar is truly a GREAT TV show, 10/10!

Posted : 16 years ago on 12 April 2008 05:30 (A review of Avatar: The Last Airbender)

This is a very large show, it is fun to watch and quite an interesting tale. a good concept and a very interesting plot. What more is there? its a kids show, there isn't much to say! *EDIT* All in all, this show is great, good plot, unexpected twists, good character designs and a moderately light designing of characters. Everything changes after book 2, the whole series is like... flipped upside down. I love it. I love the different branches of bending, they are all very interesting. The plot-line is just as good, creative and filled with fall down, get back up and fall down again mini plots. It also shows the conflicts of all the sides and shows the true characters of the people. My favorite character at first was Aang, he was an oddball and very interesting, he needed growing up to do, a good well balanced main character that every good TV show should have! Then, after a little while, my favorite character quickly switched over to Sokka, around the beginning of book 3, Book 3 seems to be the point where all the secondary characters get the characteristics of main characters, each one has a dramatic change in character and seems to become a better person. Sokka showed this inthe beginning, he became a better warrior, a better tactician, but he still kept his comedic flaws that make him... him. Now... my new favorite character is Zuko, hes changed quite a bit from his previous self, and I like the new him, I also like the new form of firebending, it's reall brought me out of my anti fire powers phase, Fire isn't just destruction, it is energy, life and rebirth. "The phoenix bursts into flames and thenrises from the ashes a new born chick" a fairly famous quote, though I don't know who wrote it. This quote fits Sokka, Aang, Zuko AND Original Firebending. I also like te creative creature designs, I love this show, it is just... great! The twists are good. Toph and Kitara are both good characters, they are well balanced and have their problems too, though, they don't do too many dramatic changes. Two thumbs up, five stars out of five, a perfect 10, Great job makers of Avatar! I hope you make something similar to Avatar and keep the fire going so to Speak Time To make this thread something worthy, I like the new requirement, so I am gunna make this the required length since it should fit the rules! I also love the new no enters, it makes this so much harder for the 'lazy smartasses' who just want to take up space

Posted : 16 years ago on 6 April 2008 04:21 (A review of Zatch Bell)

Who doesn't like super destructive kids who have spells that can do anything from blow up a house from a lightning blast to making arms into blades. THIS is why you don't give kids weapons! lolz. Great plot. I wish it could've stayd longer. It was funny and crazy. Zatch made me laugh a lot, it is a great show, the character cast is quite comedic, with an extra comedic relief, the horse thing!

Great show...

Posted : 16 years ago on 6 April 2008 04:19 (A review of Xiaolin Showdown)

I am tired, but I need to finish these last two reviews

Xiaolin showdown is a great show, the plot is good, it is quite long and the creativity is off the charts. I really wish that the show would never end and they'd keep the creative juices flowing, the character cast is great and the voices are quite funny sometimes. Plus Jack is hilarious
